PCD Welcomes Two New Trustees
PCD is thrilled to welcome two new members to our Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees, made up of PCD and HBS alumni, current parents and alumni parents, is tasked with the responsibility of providing strategic guidance to PCD’s school administration and serves as the school’s greatest champions and cheerleaders. We are so very fortunate to have these new representatives joining our Board for this school year.
Bruce Messier ’07 After graduating PCD, Bruce attended the U.S. Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, followed by the United States Naval Academy until 2012 where he studied Economics. He went on to attend Bryant University, graduating in 2014 with a BS in Finance and Business Administration. Bruce then joined his family’s business, Butler and Messier Insurance, becoming its 4th president in 2021. He serves on the Rhode Island Governor’s Insurance Council and the Board of Directors of the Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island and has been actively involved with the Pawtucket Boys and Girls Club since 2017. Bruce also joined PCD’s Finance Committee earlier this year.
Robin Shields, Current Parent Robin is the parent of a current student (Class of 2025). Robin holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College in Psychology and Education, and a M.M.A from the University of Rhode Island in Marine Affairs. While raising her two children at home, Robin volunteered in numerous capacities for multiple academic and environmental organizations. Most recently, she was the Executive Director of the Sippican Lands Trust In Marion, MA, and was a fundraising consultant for the Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey Association in New Bedford, MA. Robin is delighted to be a part of the PCD community where she is a strong advocate for the Learning Center academic support program.
